WHERE YOU BELONG

Although the words membership and belonging are synonymous, for many gyms, ‘belonging’ simply means a line item on your monthly credit card statement. Not here. At CrossFit North Port, we don’t want you to have a membership, we want you to feel like you belong.

We work very hard to foster a culture of community and create a positive atmosphere that encourages support, but we really can’t take all the credit—we have amazing members who truly care about each other. CrossFit is tough, and facing adversity together forms strong bonds. Before long, you’ll know everyone in your classes, you will cheer them on when they want to quit, you will share victories and struggles, and at the end of it all you will leave with a smile on your face. Many of our members tell us that they never thought that their daily workout would become the hour of the day they look forward to the most. A gym where if you miss a few classes your coach will call to make sure you’re okay? Who knew such a thing existed!

Belonging to CrossFit North Port is not a number or a contract, it’s a feeling.

What is Crossfit?

CrossFit, Inc. defines its strength and conditioning program as, “constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity across broad time and modal domains” with the stated goal of improving functional fitness.

What this means is that we combine a broad spectrum of skills and movements (from Olympic lifts and basic gymnastics to more basic movements like running and sit-ups) to design daily workouts that change constantly. This way, your body never ‘adapts’ to your routine and you never plateau. CrossFit is inherently scalable, so even though a class may consist of individuals with varying ability everyone participates in the same workout.

When we say ‘functional fitness,’ what we mean is that we are not interested in building vanity muscles here (although looking better naked is a nice perk). We want you to be able to run across the airport to make a connection without getting winded, we want you to be able to lift your spare tire out of the trunk, or carry your grandchild up the stairs.

And most important, we want you to realize that you are capable of so much more than you ever thought possible. This is by far the most powerful side effect of CrossFit and it will affect all aspects of your life.

High-End Facility

our 6,000 square foot facility is impeccably maintained. Our lobby is bright and inviting, and our gym area is Wodify-enabled and fully-equipped with the latest Rogue gear. You can even add your favorite songs to the day’s playlist using RockBot. This place is our home and we treat it accordingly.

Convenient Schedule

We know that you are busy—between work and family obligations, modern life is hectic and making time to work out can be tough. We do our best to make it easier by providing many classes to choose from throughout the day. Click here to view our schedule.

Innovative onboarding

Every CFNP member goes through one-on-one fundamentals training with one of our coaches and must demonstrate proficiency in these skills before entering group class. Proper execution of these skills is paramount to safety, confidence, and your overall success in achieving your goals.

More than just crossfit

In addition to our CrossFit programming, we also offer a comprehensive health and goals assessment, nutrition coaching, and one-on-one or small group personal training sessions. We want you to succeed, and are constantly looking for new ways to help you reach your goals.

I was not an athlete growing up. I didn’t fit in with the popular kids. I weighed all of 160 pounds my junior year in High School. Frankly, I was a bit lost. Then my best friend introduced me to lifting. You know, going from machine to machine making grunting noises (I am still known to make those same grunting noises sometimes). This was my first taste of the power of exercise.

A few years later, I found CrossFit. It only took one workout to realize I had found what I’d been looking for my whole life. I found a community—a second family, really—a group of people all striving to better their lives. That first workout felt like a war zone. My legs were shaking, I was gasping for air, and my heart felt like it was going to explode. But none of that mattered because a group of complete strangers were assuring me that I could do it. When I rounded the corner for the last time, and burst through that big bay door for the final time, everyone was cheering and screaming my name. At that point I knew, without a doubt, that CrossFit was for me. I’ve been all in ever since.

I’ve been involved in sports ever since I remember. From playing volleyball at the age of five to swimming at the age of twelve to playing up to five sports in High School, one of them being Weightlifting and finishing 2nd in State finals. After High School and throughout College, I tried keeping up with sports and maintaining an active fitness routine. I found myself going to gyms like Planet Gitness and Crunch, but found myself not feeling the motivation I was looking for, or even knowing what I was doing.

In 2015, as I was researching for “weightlifting gyms” I ran into CrossFit North Port. I showed up and was invited to join them in a workout and after that, I knew it was my place to be. The environment was honestly what truly sold it to me. Even though I was working out with a group of people I didn’t know, all I saw was encouragement from everyone. That very same day I walked out as a member of CFNP. My passion for fitness and wellness only grew from there. Not only did I realize how much I loved it for myself, but I also realized I wanted others to feel and see all of the benefits this place had to offer, mentally, physically, and emotionally.

I went to the University of South Florida and obtained my Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and by 2022, a year after graduating from College, I became a certified CrossFit Coach at CFNP. To this day, it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Being an athlete has been a part of my identity for as long as I can remember. Some of my fondest childhood memories take place on a field or court of some kind. During college, that passion for fitness was relegated to a ‘globo gym’ where I grew bored and despondent.

Then in 2012, a co-worker dragged me to her CrossFit class, where I fell in love (and not just with Adam). I resurrected my dormant athletic skills and felt that rush of competition I had been missing. I began to grow as an athlete, attaining an overall level of functional fitness that rendered me more prepared for the uncertain physical demands of daily life.

Then we got pregnant. Aubrey was born happy and healthy. After the standard 6 weeks, I returned to CrossFit, but something wasn’t right. I was experiencing issues with incontinence and an extreme pain in my back that didn’t respond to any of the usual mobility exercises. No one had an answer for why this was happening. Finally, I was diagnosed with diastasis recti and pelvic floor dysfunction; the doctor told me to “adjust to this reality.” If you hurt your shoulder, you’re sent to physical therapy, but damage to your body from giving birth is just something to accept? This triggered a journey that would lead me across the country and back acquiring the knowledge and training to enable me to change my own circumstances, and ultimately, those of many other women. I am now an impassioned advocate for mothers; I encourage new moms to  develop realistic goals and strategies that focus on healing, and disregard the trite notion of ‘bouncing back.’ You can absolutely get back to whatever type of fitness you want and enjoy. And I am always here to help.

My first introduction to ‘fitness’ was bench pressing as a teenager in a buddy’s garage. I was hooked. I had a lot to balance in life, but I always made time for fitness. And not just working out; I was  reading, researching, experimenting with my programming, and sharing ideas with anyone who would listen.

In 2009, it happened. I was researching high-intensity training and found an article on CrossFit. The very next day, I was watching my first class. I walked out that day as the 28th member of that gym. By 2010, I was a certified CrossFit coach. Unfortunately, that same year, my gym moved to another town. I kept training on my own, lead a boot camp for some of my wife’s friends in the park, and tried to be content at a ‘globo gym,’ but I wasn’t happy.

Then it happened again! My wife signed up for Adam’s Fundamentals course, and within a few days our family was invited to a get-together at CrossFit North Port. I knew immediately that was home. I’m proud to call it my gym, and even prouder to coach at such a fine facility. Helping others improve their health & fitness is a rewarding passion, one I share with the rest of our staff, and a direct reflection of our community. Love you, guys.

Having been a firefighter for 18 years, I thought I was physically fit and in shape. My first CrossFit class had me lying on the floor gasping for air as Coach Adam asked, “Hey man, I thought you said you were fit?” That’s when it hit me and I realized how important it is to be a part of a community that prioritizes functional fitness at a high intensity.

My beautiful wife Tanya and I have been married for 18 years and have three amazing children. In December 2019, little did I know when I fulfilled my wife’s wish & gifted her a membership to CFNP, it would pay off in so many ways.

Several months later, my doctor and I were developing a care plan for my PTSD and I was tasked with making fitness a priority outside of the job requirements as a firefighter. I searched for memberships to our local “globo gyms” when Tanya insisted that I join her at CrossFit North Port and enrolled me in fundamentals. Becoming a member of this awesome community and getting fit alongside my wife has been a highlight of my life. It was made even better when I was challenged with the opportunity to join the Coaching Staff.

Working as a firefighter/paramedic, caring for the well-being of others has been my focus for a long time. Being able to blend those talents with coaching has been such an inspiration and unlocked a passion in me I didn’t know I had. It’s an honor to be your coach and help you be fitter today than you were yesterday.

It has taken me far too long to write this review, but I had to find the right words. Just over a year ago I stepped foot into this gym not really knowing what I was getting myself into I knew I wanted to make a change. I met with coach Adam and we talked over my goals and he walked me through the steps I could take to start making changes. Adam gave me information about my nutrition, how it affects my goals and checked in on how I was doing as I learned new movements. Coach Kyle and coach Mil taught me the fundamentals (basically a super helpful crash course on crossfit) and they were always focused on safety. Coach Sarah is always at the ready with any advice that can be tailored to women specifically and incredibly supportive. Coach Nate is always ready give me a million ways i can become better at a movement, showing options to scale and become stronger. to Fast forward a year and a half and I'm sitting at a table surrounded by these people and I can't help but feel so lucky that I get to be a part of this. I've been able to become healthier and stronger with these people by my side. CFNP had shown me that I can do far more than I ever thought and I can never thank them enough. If you're second guessing trying it, JUST DO IT.

I recently dropped in at CrossFit North Port and had a great experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, the coaches and members were incredibly welcoming, making me feel like I was a member of the group and not just someone passing through. The coaches at CrossFit North Port are highly knowledgeable and passionate about helping each person reach their goals. They also tailor workouts to accommodate various fitness levels, making it an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.Over the five days I was there, the workouts had a good variety which helped keep things exciting and challenging. The facility itself is well-maintained, equipped with top-notch gear, and adheres to high cleanliness standards, ensuring a safe and comfortable workout environment.Big thanks to Coach Adam and Coach Mil for a fun few days!If you live in the area or are visiting for a few days, I highly recommend checking out CrossFit North Port.

We were first introduced to CrossFit by our son and daughter, both of whom were deeply involved. We joined a CrossFit “box” up in northern New England. We loved the exercise, but we never fit in. We were much older than the average member. Disappointed, we moved on to another nearby CrossFit gym. Same experience. We started working out at home for the next 3 years. We visited the CFNP web page and followed their Facebook page for over a year. One day we just decided to walk in unannounced. We were greeted with a big smile and welcoming sense by Sarah, one of the owners. My wife took to her immediately while I observed Sarah’s demeanor, words, body language, and the members who were warming up and enjoying each other’s company. In the first 10 minutes I recognized the community aspects we had searched for over the years. Age and ability clearly were immaterial.

The most distinguishing feature was the cleanliness of the gym. By all measures, I saw the cleanest gym I had ever seen in my life.My wife and I both appreciate the importance & value of structure, discipline, integrity, honesty, attention to detail, and interpersonal engagement. It seemed the owners, Sarah and Adam get it. After watching a full WOD we thanked Adam and Sarah for their time and took home their rate sheet. Not cheap, but neither were the ones up in New England, and all are much cheaper than chronic illnesses. This gym, these owners, unlike those we had previously encountered, seemed to totally get it.We decided to try it for a month; a pricey route but, that’s the way we decided to evaluate CFNP. We signed up for one-on-one introductory classes with one of their coaches. We didn’t have to go through the introductory classes, but we wanted to evaluate what might be different.

We each worked with Coach Mil, a powerhouse of a woman with exquisite ability to spot things needing correction coupled with a gentle enough demeanor to keep us from feeling overly criticized. There was so much we were doing wrong! Thanks, Coach Mil.Once in the car, we talked about the great experience we each just had, and we wondered whether all the coaches were that good. It was clear, Adam, Sarah, and Mil all talk the talk, and walk the walk. When our 1st month was up, we signed a 12-month agreement getting us much more affordable rates. The rates are affordable because unlike our previous CrossFit experiences, at CFNP we know we have a fair exchange in value. We are getting what we were seeking. Two months into our “CrossFit reboot” through CFNP; we love it. We love the coaching that takes place every session throughout the session. Coaches, are in constant motion, constantly provide guidance & suggestions, & are always encouraging. We love the instruction, the on-time starts, the focus on proper movements, the availability of ways to modify movements to adjust for old injuries, weaknesses, and lack of joint mobility. They hold an attitude that communicates that everyone belongs. They know what to do and how to do it, as defined by each member. Members range in age from teens to well, us!In just two months we feel more connected with the members and coaches at CFNP than the years we spent in other gyms up north. Despite being the oldest members (we think), we have experienced a quick sense of belonging and look forward to every WOD without reservation. At CFNP every WOD can be modified without exception and without criticism so no matter our ability, we can participate fully. We recommend CFNP to anyone who wants to learn how to become stronger than you thought possible without constant fear of injury. Respect and great coaching are assured at CFNP. The exchange in value is well-balanced and its members are truly enjoyable. That doesn’t happen by accident. It occurs because they have a repeatable formula from which they never deviate. It’s always friendly and fun and all coaches clearly know what they’re doing, and they enjoy doing it.Bonus: All coaches are on the same page and are quite skilled and engaging!

My CrossFit journey started in August of 2022. After years of no exercise and getting a work from home job, I needed to make a change. I was researching trainers in North Port, but never really found something that I felt was a fit for me. I kept coming across CrossFit in general and then of course, CrossFit North Port. I was nervous at first - I had never lifted weights before, only been an active teen and ran a little on the treadmill. I setup a meeting with Adam who never tried to sell me on anything. In fact, he wanted me to go home and think about things for a little bit. I'm the type of person where I have to put my money where my mouth is and in order to make such a drastic change, I signed up for the Fundamentals course that evening. It's the best decision I've ever made. Working with all the coaches I was able to lose close to 50 pounds in 9 months, lift a lot of weights, meet some new best friends, and have a lot of fun!If you're anxious about joining, I recommend setting up a consultation and see where it takes you. The community in and out of the gym is incredible. There's absolutely zero judgement - just people who all want to see you succeed.

Awesome place and coaches! We love CrossFit North Port! Coach Adam and the rest of the coaches are friendly, approachable, and really show they care. My daughter and I are new to CF, but here, it doesn’t matter. The coaches are very involved in checking to make sure that one is performing lifts correctly, and making sure that one’s ego doesn’t get the better of oneself. They will even check in with you when you don’t come to class, and make sure that any restrictions that you might have are accommodated in a different exercise.Don’t hesitate to sign up if you are on the fence!
Response from the owner: Thanks Dana! We are so glad to have you guys with us. See you soon!

The attention to details and care for the local community is beyond anything I thought I’d ever find here. This is a place full of people that care about themselves, but even more for others. I never would have believed they’ve been open for almost a decade. The gym is kept spotless and always looks like it’s the grand opening. The equipment is in perfect shape and of course of the best quality. If you don’t know if this place is for you I hope you give it a chance. If it’s already the place you go congrats on your ability to make great decisions.

My biggest reason for joining CrossFit was to try something new, something that I was afraid of. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. Weight loss and physical fitness would be the cherries on top.Sure enough, it was intimidating and scary at first. But new members are required to take a 5-class "On Ramp" training program, where you are taught proper form and technique, in a 1-on-1 setting with a trainer. It's clear here that your health and success are top priority. After making it through the on-ramp classes, I definitely felt more confident. And that only gets better with each class. The coaches are very patient and willing to re-teach movements if needed.I feel like I have found my people in the 5:30 class! I honestly look forward to my classes and the progress I'm seeing both physically and emotionally. I only wish I had started sooner.

Can't say enough good things about CFNP. The coaches care about mechanics and form more than weight and it is a breath of fresh air. I have have progressed more in my fitness journey by signing up and attending classes in this gym than I have in the last 3 years on my own / working with generic personal trainers. I highly recommend CFNP. As the newbie in town looking for a local gym can be difficult but Coach Adam made the decision quite easy. After dropping into his gym, I knew I didn’t have to visit any other gym, CFNP was a perfect fit. He and all the coach’s were so welcoming as well as all the members. He’s truly building a great community. Additionally, the motto of the gym “form is everything” was exactly what I needed as I recovered from a lower back injury. The coach’s works closely with members of all fitness levels to help everyone improve each and every class. Personally, I have improved on many of my Olympic movements just by taking a step back and focusing on form rather than the weight on my barbell thanks to the whole team at CFNP.

I have been working out and staying fit most of my life. My military friends told me to start doing Crossfit for years since i stopped doing what i was doing for 12 years. Took awhile with moving and now i am finally settled. So one day after work i called Crossfit North Port and Coach Adam got back to me later that day. We set up a appointment and i came in with a co worker to speak to him what this was about. I already had it in my mind i was going to do this. I started with the 5 day program they have so the coaches can show you how to do things the right way. Once you get through that then you start your classes. They let you work at your own pace but they are very encouraging when you are there training. Now one thing i noticed this is for EVERYONE. My class seems to be all different ages of men and women. So dont think you cant do this. It is a very hard workout if you push yourself to be your best and the coaches see that. This is my 4th week fulltime doing this and i was doing 3 days a week and i will soon be going to 5. My classmates are very nice, everybody smiles and says hi and makes you welcome. The facility is very clean and kept up. Its a fun, family and professional atmosphere and it makes me feel very welcome when i come in. If you read this then please do yourself a favor and give Coach Adam a call or get in contact. This will change your life. I want to thank all my coaches as well. Coach Adam, Coach Kyle, Coach Mil and Coach Erin for showing and helping me do things the right way. Looking very forward to working with them as the future goes on.

Crossfit is Fantastic! I have finally found a gym I can call “HOME”. From the first fundamental classes with Coach Kyle to attending classes daily with Coach Adam, it has been a great experience. Coach Adam is professional, patient and always looks out for your health and well-being. He makes sure you are approaching each movement with the proper form to avoid any injury. You never feel any pressure but are definitely inspired to push yourself to your personal best. The members are all welcoming and helpful, without any intimidation. I am even getting up early to attend the 6am classes, it is the best part of my day. Thank you, Coach Adam, Coach Kyle and Sarah, for welcoming me to the North Port CrossFit Family. Sincerely, Diane C.
Response from the owner: Thank you so much, Diane, for the amazing review! We love having you apart of our community, keep killing it. You're doing amazing.

After being here for only a month, I am convinced that this is the best gym atmosphere I’ve ever been in. The workouts are fun, intense, and rewarding. Adam the owner really focuses on proper form. He is always patient and willing to help with any questions as well (great for newbies like me). I’m loving how I feel after these workouts and for the first time, I find that I look forward to the next one.
Response from the owner: Olga, thank you so much for the kind review. We are so glad to have you apart of our community. Keep killing it! 🙂

Frequently asked questions

We are always here to answer any question or concern that you may have. If you don’t see your questions here, please reach out and ask. And remember, there are no stupid questions!

Is CrossFit for me?
Yes. Everyone can do CrossFit regardless of age, injuries and current fitness level. The program can be modified for each athlete to help him or her become fitter and healthier. Grandparents and Olympians—and everyone in between—can perform modified versions of the same workout.
Do I need to be in shape to start CrossFit?
Absolutely not! This is where you get in shape. No matter what your current fitness level is, you can start CrossFit. You can start if you’ve never worked out, if you have injuries, or if you’re sick or overweight. CrossFit workouts are modified to help each person succeed, improve fitness, and take daily steps toward goals. As you become fitter, your workouts will be adjusted to challenge you at your new level.
Is it worth the price?
We definitely think so, but we are a little biased. 🙂 This is a personal question, and the only way to find out for sure is to give it at try. We know that our program isn’t cheap, but we also know that the changes we see take place in people’s lives are priceless. We’ve seen with our own eyes that an investment in your own health and wellness can pay dividends beyond your wildest dreams.

“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.”

What if I don't have time for this?
It is a common feel that we don’t have time for ourselves due to the obligations of career and family. The good new is, you only need an hour, and that hour will improve your health, mood, and productivity which will benefit your career and family.

Research shows us that world-class strength and conditioning is obtainable through an hour a day of training six days per week. It turns out that the intensity of training that optimizes physical conditioning is not sustainable past forty-five minutes to an hour. Athletes who train for hours a day are developing skills or training for sports that include adaptations inconsistent with elite strength and conditioning. Past one hour, more is not better!

You can see results with just two hours a week. Start there, see how you feel. Before you know it, you’ll be turning up 3 times, than 4…. We see it happen time and again.

What kind of results can I expect?

Most members begin feeling better and stronger immediately. You can expect about a 15-20% improvement in strength and endurance following the first fifteen sessions. In addition, our findings show that flexibility, agility, and body composition are improved. We can even track this data with our InBody 270 scale. Subjective results like increased mental toughness, energy levels, improved sleep, and reduced joint stiffness are also reported. Most of our members are shocked by their improvements, even those who considered themselves active before starting CrossFit.

Don't people get hurt doing CrossFit?
Over the years, CrossFit has gotten a bad rap as ‘dangerous.’ But CrossFit doesn’t hurt people, bad coaching and improper technique hurt people. For us, form is everything. This is part of the reason why we developed our unique onboarding process, so that members are taught the skills one-on-one before being thrown into a group class where they may feel competitive and be tempted to ‘go fast’ or ‘keep up’ at the expense of proper technique. Also, our class sizes are kept small so that everyone receives personal attention—any sign of bad form is corrected immediately. You will be encouraged to challenge yourself, but never at the expense of your safety. A sedentary lifestyle is far more dangerous than a CrossFit class.

The Process is easy

We have carefully designed our on-boarding process to ensure that you are comfortable, capable, and ultimately successful in the attainment of your goals. We are here to build lasting and rewarding relationships with all of our clients. When you’re happy, we’re happy.

Schedule your free consultation

Schedule your free consultation with Adam one-on-one to discuss your goals, assess your current level of health, and try a free workout (if you’re game). There is no pressure, and no matter what you’ll walk away with your InBody Results Sheet, and a deeper understanding of your goals.

Learn the Fundamentals

All new members complete our unique 1-on-1 on-boarding sessions, designed to teach you the the skills required to join group class safely and confidently. After demonstrating proficiency with these skills you graduate to group class, and will feel confident in your abilities and know exactly what to expect.
